“Weeping Gods” by Electric High: A Relentless Storm of Grit and Soul

Electric High’s recent single “Weeping Gods” should be listened to by every person on this earth. Releasing on the 25th of October 2024, teamed with a fantastic video, the band has taken a number of risks with this single and has gone above and beyond their previous work. “Weeping Gods” showcases a heavy hard rock sound that is easily distinguished from the earlier songs. The song weighs in heavy attitude and energy, leaving you no choice but to pay attention from the first note. “Weeping Gods” does not hold back against the force of a train traveling at speed. It begins with screaming guitars that set the tune for the song and bring you into a whole dimension of sound. The booming bass is accentuated by the snare beats – the sound swells. The heaviness of the rhythm section guarantees a thunderous rise to the song’s core. The song’s beginning showcases Sam Bradshaw and Aaron Coles narrating a crushing prologue: “I drank the tears of the Weeping Gods, may all of my days be blessed”, a darker and more eerie tone sets the mood for the remainder of the song. This is just a hint of what the rest of the song will be like: dark and rather bemusing.

“Weeping Gods” invites the audience to think about the concept of sin, its confessing, and the act of seeking redemption only to ask whether redemption is the answer or is it just a way of allowing oneself always to return to sin, with the consequence that one never actually suffers for his sins. The performance gives an impression of frustration. The words ‘forgiveness’ and ‘forgive’ are used, over and over again, to place doubt in the listener subconsciously; is it truly the correct approach? The listener is once again reaffirmed by the provocative nature of the track that it is not as the narrator makes reconciliation with guilt and sin seem automatic. The theme surrounding “Weeping Gods” works perfectly as it discusses struggles with redemption and sin, which is very timely. The video that Marius Mørch, Alek Perez, and Olav Iversen directed is breathtaking. It features incredible sound design, and everything about it is truly stunning and captivating without ever feeling overwhelming. Many arguments may be advanced in favor of the line, but the idea is that every artist should remember them—Daniel Birkeland indeed did something. As a result, the instrumental was powerful because all the guitars, bass, and drums were performed with such great care that it gave everything a powerful sense.

The alterations done by Electric High in their piece “Weeping Gods” are a tasteful mix of hard rock and alternative styles that make the band’s sound modern and classic. The vocalists, who are both the band’s frontmen, effortlessly exchange verses in a believable and moving way; warranted voices are a good match for the music, creating tension that propels the track from start to finish and leaves the listener engaged and geared up. “Colorful White Lies”, Electric High’s debut album, will feature “Weeping Gods”, the single the group is currently promoting. In this song, one can see both the extremes, the ceaseless strength of rock and substantive philosophy – an excellent preview of what will come from the band. Even more impressive is that Electric High makes his point with “Weeping Gods” – this has the potential to be hated by some and loved by many as it intertwines rock and roll with intelligent content that will speak to the audience and get them ready for the album. “Weeping Gods”, the new single from Electric High, will please fans of explosive rock bands such as Rival Sons and Royal Blood. The time for the band has come, and they mean business. Since Electric High is not a one-hit wonder, “Weeping Gods” is just the tip of the iceberg. There is a lot in store for the audience.
