A Fusion of Groove, Soul, and Jazz – GIANFRANCO GFN’s ‘GIOMANÈ’

With his fifth album release on June 6th, 2025, GIANFRANCO GFN returns stronger than ever with groovy and hypnotic tunes full of Soul, Funk, and Jazz influences. Recorded partly in Switzerland and Ivory Coast during two years of live concerts and studio sessions, the songs featured on the album ‘GIOMANÈ’ combined organic sounds with many different influences to create GIANFRANCO GFN’s universe called GIAZZ! Right from the opening track “Sing the Song”, listeners are invited into the world of GIAZZ! Continuing onward, listeners are taken on a rollercoaster of highs and lows. Emotions run through each song whether you are being called to dance with a fast-paced tune or being serenaded by a slow, passionate ballad. Every track has a story behind it about life, love, loss, or adventure. It makes you feel like you are sitting right in front of him listening to his heart and soul spill out into the music.

There are so many different styles of songs on this album. “Supernatural” has this supernatural almost magical aura to it. Then you have songs like “Are You Lost” that blend the sounds of funk and blues together so seamlessly. I also really enjoy how he incorporates a horn section into his music. The horns were recorded in Ivory Coast and give each song that extra little something to make them so enjoyable to listen to. My personal favorites on the album were “Soft” and “Boulevard de l’amour ‘Fall in Love'”. I loved how smooth and sexy these songs were. GIANFRANCO GFN’s soulful guitar playing shines through on each track but these were the two that stood out to me. The last two songs on the album, “In My Dreams, and “Doctor Wind”, were so dreamy and had this slow-built vibe to them. I loved hearing this band stretch their legs musically and show off their amazing talent. ‘GIOMANÈ’ is such a fun album to listen to and you never know what you are going to hear next.

Consisting of GIANFRANCO GFN on guitar and vocals. Supported by bass, drums, keyboardists, and the killer horn section of trumpet, saxophone, and trombone. Each musician played their role perfectly and you could hear the interaction between each instrument while listening to the album. They mixed and mastered the music in Italy which I think gave it that extra edge of rawness to the music. If you are a fan of jazz, soul, funk, or just good music, ‘GIOMANÈ’ is the album for you!
