Ulrich Jannert has just released a soft soul rock/country rock/R&B album ‘Wander Still’. We have been following him for a while now. What we love about this album is that it is all about growth and self-reflection. The German-born artist now living in Northern Europe is building on each of these tracks. ‘Wander Still’ has a unique take on each song, and we love that. We believe that is important to highlight because we feel that this is what makes an album for us as well. Instead of one or two hits, the whole album builds on a certain message. This is important for Ulrich as well as he calls on our intuition to trust and learn more about ourselves. ‘Wander Still’ is a brand-new and uplifting album that highlights six brand-new tracks, some picked from his earlier single releases as well.
The opening track is a powerful and reflective tune – “I’ve Walked Through Fire”. The strong beat, along with the lyrics and vocals, is an intense introduction to what is yet to come. “Wander Still” comes next, and it’s also a gentle, slightly more mellow tune, which sets the stage for an inner journey and wanderings. The song is a beautiful combination of lyrics and soul rock sound. A slower tune can be found in “Not Too Late For You”, followed by “Step Into The Light” which is a bit more upbeat and groovy. We found these three songs the most impactful in terms of a message that it is never too late for us to change our lives, for better or for worse. However, the last three tracks go into a slightly different direction. The mood lightens up in “True to YOU”, which is an empowering tune, all about authenticity, which we are all looking for these days. “Shape YOUR Galaxy – Radio Edit” is a cool pick-me-up of an upbeat track before the butterfly soul reaches us in the last song, “Butterfly Soul”.
What is so amazing about Ulrich is that each of his tracks is so different. He likes to capture feelings and build from the inside out, and you can really hear that in this album. Every time we go to listen to this album, we notice something new that connects with us and inspires us to break free from our past and take action. In general, we feel that ‘Wander Still’ is such a vibe. It is powerful, soothing, uplifting, while it manages to leave an impression of positive energy on us. This is also the reason why we enjoy so much following up with Ulrich’s releases. We highly recommend the entire album and each of these tracks to you.
